Local SEO decides whether you are one of the few businesses Google shows on a map when someone nearby searches for what you do. Google says it ranks those results on relevance, distance and prominence. It also says plainly that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. That leaves two honest jobs for anyone you hire: make your profile and your website as relevant as they can be, and then build the reviews and mentions that make you prominent.
We are a small team in Chur, Switzerland, working remotely with small businesses in the UK, the US and Switzerland. Below is exactly what we do, what it costs and, just as important, what we refuse to do.

Every price is fixed and published, and you pay in dollars, pounds or Swiss francs by PayPal or bank transfer, plus a 4% payment fee. VAT applies only to clients in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In other words, the figure on the card is the figure on your invoice.

Choose PremiumHow Our Local SEO Services Compare on Price
There is also a Basic plan at $249 (£179, CHF 200) a month. However, it covers keyword research, on-page fixes, a blog post and links, but no Business Profile or citation work, so we do not sell it as local SEO. You will find it with our other SEO plans for small businesses.
What monthly local SEO costs
Published prices for one location, in US dollars
So we sit at the lower end of the market, and that is deliberate. Many small businesses only need the one-off fix, because their competitors have not done the basics either. A monthly plan only earns its fee where the map pack is genuinely crowded.
What Affordable Local SEO Services Should Fix First
A Business Profile created in ten minutes on opening day tends to stay that way for years. Fixing it is the cheapest local SEO work there is, because the strongest factors sit on the profile itself. Whitespark’s 2026 Local Search Ranking Factors survey asked 47 local search experts to rank what moves the map pack, and these were their top five:
Top five map pack ranking factors, 2026
Score given by 47 local search experts (higher means more important)
Look at that list closely, though. Only two of the top five are honestly in your hands: your primary category and accurate opening hours. The third, keywords in the business name, clearly works, which is exactly why so many profiles are stuffed with them. Yet Google’s guidelines say your name must reflect your real-world name, so we fix what you control and leave the rest alone.
One more change most guides have not caught up with: in December 2025, Google confirmed it was removing the questions and answers section from Business Profiles in Maps. In its place, an AI-powered Ask button answers customers from your business information and your reviews. As a result, complete details and reviews that describe the actual job matter more than ever. Our guide to Google Business Profile optimisation covers the profile signals in more depth.
What Feeds Your Local Ranking
See who is in your map pack right now
Type what you do and your town, and we will open the same search in Google Maps in a new tab. Results change with the searcher’s location, so try it from your premises and again from the far side of town. If the same competitors appear both times, those are the profiles to beat.
What Our Profile Optimisation Includes
These are concepts for a fictional plumber rather than client results, but they show the three things the one-off optimisation delivers. Each one is also something you keep using after we have finished.
A profile with the right category and real photos
The primary category does more work than anything else you can change, so we choose the most specific one that describes your main job. “Plumber” beats a vague “home services” category, for example. After that come secondary categories, a services list in your customers’ words, accurate hours and a plain description of what you do and where.
Photos matter as well, because customers judge the business by them. So we upload your own pictures of real jobs, vans and staff rather than stock images, and we set up your first Google posts.

A review request that goes to every customer
More reviews and positive ratings help your local ranking, according to Google. However, Google’s own policy forbids asking only your happy customers, and it forbids offering anything in return. So the system we set up is deliberately simple: one short link and a QR card, sent to every customer after every job.
We also write the request for you. It asks for an honest review and suggests saying what was done, because a review that names the job tells the next customer, and Google, far more than “great service”.

A website that matches the profile
Google compares your profile with your website and with other listings. If your name, phone number or hours differ between them, you leave room for doubt. Therefore we match the details on your contact page word for word and add LocalBusiness schema, so search engines read the same facts in their own format.
Finally, we check the main directory listings for your country. No website yet? Our one-page website for $199 includes the same matching details from day one.

Affordable Local SEO Services in the UK, US and Switzerland
Google works the same way everywhere, but the directories, the languages and the review laws do not. Pick your country to see what changes.
Local SEO services in the UK
Beyond Google, the directories worth a correct listing include Yell and Thomson Local, plus trade sites such as Checkatrade if you are a tradesperson. Apple Business Connect and Bing Places matter too, because they feed the maps on iPhones and in Microsoft products.
Reviews carry legal weight as well. Since 6 April 2025, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 has banned fake reviews and concealed incentivised reviews. The CMA can now fine a business up to 10% of its global turnover, so a review shortcut is never worth the risk.
Local SEO services in the US
Alongside Google, Apple Business Connect and Bing Places control how you appear on iPhone maps and in Microsoft products, while Yelp and the BBB still shape trust in many trades. We make sure the details match across all of them.
The FTC rule on fake reviews took effect on 21 October 2024. It bans buying fake reviews and offering rewards for reviews that say something positive, and at launch it carried civil penalties of up to $51,744 per violation. As a result, our review system asks every customer and offers nothing in return.
Local SEO services in Switzerland
Swiss customers search in German, French, Italian or English depending on the region, so your website pages need to match the language people actually use. A Zurich clinic may need German and English pages, for instance, while a Lausanne shop needs French.
The directories that matter most are local.ch and search.ch, sister platforms run by localsearch, the company formerly known as Swisscom Directories. Since we are based in Chur, this is also the market we know from the inside.
This is general information, not legal advice. If you are unsure about the rules for your business, check with a lawyer or your trade body.
What We Will Not Do for Your Rankings
Cheap local SEO sometimes chases quick results with shortcuts that can get a profile suspended. These are the ones we turn down, even when a client asks:
- Fake or bought reviewsThey break Google’s policy and, in the UK and the US, the law as well.
- Asking only happy customersGoogle’s policy forbids selectively asking for positive reviews, so every customer gets the same request.
- Keywords in your business name“Example Plumbing Manchester Boiler Repair” may rank for a while, but Google’s guidelines ban it.
- Virtual officesGoogle says a virtual office isn’t eligible for a Business Profile. Service-area businesses should hide their address instead.
- Copy-paste town pagesTen pages with only the town name swapped help nobody. Instead, we write a page only where you genuinely work.
- Long contractsEvery monthly plan runs month to month, so you stay because it works, not because you signed.
How Our Local SEO Services Work, Step by Step
You stay the owner of your Business Profile throughout. We work as a manager on it, so you can remove our access at any time.
- CheckWe search your main services from several points in your area and audit your profile.
- FixCategories, services, photos, review system and website details, all in one go.
- MeasureWe watch calls, direction requests and website clicks in your profile’s performance data.
- DecideIf the fix is enough, you stop there. If not, a monthly plan takes over, month to month.
Affordable Local SEO Services FAQ
How much do affordable local SEO services cost?
With us, $249 (£179, CHF 200) once for a Google Business Profile optimisation, or $599 (£449, CHF 500) a month for the Advanced plan with no minimum term. For comparison, a 2026 roundup of published local SEO prices puts typical agency fees at $500 to $2,500 or more a month.
How long does local SEO take to work?
There is no fixed timeline, and anyone who promises one is guessing. Profile fixes are usually the quickest to take effect, while reviews and links build over months. Google itself says there is no way to pay for a better local ranking, so we promise the work, not a position.
Do I need a website for local SEO?
A Business Profile can bring calls on its own. Still, a website gives Google more to match against your profile and gives customers somewhere to check you out. If you have none, our one-page website costs $199 (£149, CHF 164) and goes live in 7 working days.
Do you work with businesses outside Switzerland?
Yes. We work remotely with small businesses in the UK, the US and Switzerland, by email and video call. You also pay in your own currency, by PayPal or bank transfer.
Will you get us reviews?
We set up a system that asks every customer for an honest review, with a short link, a QR card and the wording. We never write, buy or filter reviews, because that breaks Google’s policy and, in the UK and the US, the law.
Is there a minimum contract?
No. The profile optimisation is a one-off fee, and every monthly plan runs month to month.
Who owns my Google Business Profile?
You do. We are added as a manager, so you stay the owner, and you can remove our access whenever you like.
